New England Sports Camps is a part of the Boys and Girls Club and YMCA of Waterville at the Alfond Youth and Community Center.

Mission

To inspire and enable all young people and their families
to realize their full potential as healthy, productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Abbie Charrier

Youth Programs Director

 

Abbie graduated Cum Laude from Thomas College with her Bachelors of Science in Sport Management. At Thomas she played Field Hockey, was a three year captain for the Terriers and was named to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad three times. She received her Masters of Business Administration with a focus in Athletic Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. She has coached for Waterville High School Varsity Field Hockey since 2018. 

Abbie grew up in coastal Maine, attending adventure and sports camps. Abbie joined New England Sports Camps in March, 2017.

Gabriel Merrill

Camps and Trips Coordinator

 

Gabriel Merrill grew up in MidCoast, Maine, where he hiked, played basketball, football and soccer, and looked forward all year to summer camp. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Thomas College, where he was a resident assistant, played intramural sports, and worked for the Alfond Youth and Community Center, including helping run summer programs at the New England Sports Camps. He is currently the Youth Center's Assistant Director of Camps and Trips. When not running programs, Gabriel enjoys playing basketball, hiking, climbing, and exploring.

Patrick Guerette

Chief Operations Officer

 

Patrick recruits top quality coaches to help insure the mission of providing quality instruction and diverse traditional camp experiences is met throughout the summer.

 

At the University of Maine Patrick ran Varsity Track & Field and Cross country and earned his Bachelors of Education in Kinesiology & Physical Education then his Masters in Exercise Science. 

 

Patrick's fifteen plus years in the camp industry include playing various leading roles in Sport Specialty Camps, Day Camps, Overnight Camps, Adventure Based and Recreational Camps, and over five years coordinating teambuilding & challenge course activities for youth to adults, including college & high school sport teams.  Founder of the Maine Pond Hockey Classic and Quarry Road Summer Race Series he has also coached youth Hockey and Track & Field.

 

Patrick grew up playing every sport possible and continues to enjoy running, biking, swimming, and golf as well as participating in organized leagues for Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball, Flag Football and Softball.
